Benefits of Parent Involvement:

Parents ask about Parent Involvement Policies-What is a parent involvement policy?
A parent involvement policy explains how the school district or the school itself supports the important role of parents in the education of their children. Every school district that receives Title I money must have a parent involvement policy. So must every school in the district that receives Title I money. (Title I is a Federal aid program that provides extra educational services for children who are behind in school.)

Parent Involvement "Every school will promote partnerships that will increase parental involvement and participation in promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of children." (Goal 8 - National Education Goals)

Parent involvement at the middle school level -Many parents who are actively involved in the education of their children at the elementary school level become less involved when their children reach middle school. However, parent involvement in a child's education during the middle school years (ages 10 to 14) is just as important in a child's success at school as it is in earlier grades. If the school doesn't have a formal participation plan for parents, it is important that parents take the initiative to continue their involvement and collaboration in their children's school.
