Parents as Partners in Education of Alabama is a non-profit agency working throughout the state to provide education, trainings, resources, and support to families of children, youth and young adults with and without disabilities. Parents as Partners has an administrative office in Mobile and regional offices in Montgomery, Birmingham and Huntsville Alabama.
Parent
Educator -
Full-time position.
Applicants must have knowledge of or willingness to learn federal, state,
regular and special education laws and regulations. The Parent Educator provides
information and assistance to parents of children in the public school system
that will better enable them to become involved in their children's education
and to advocate for their children's educational needs. The Parent Educator also
provides information and training to parents and professionals to inform them of
the various legal requirements related to the quality of education for all
children. By presenting workshop training, the parent educator assists parents
in obtaining appropriate services for their children. Important to the
effectiveness of the Parent Educators work is the ability to collaborate with
and provide training in schools and community agencies that will enhance
partnerships between parents and schools that effectively improve educational
outcomes. Some evening, weekend work and overnight travel required. Applicant
must have dependable personal transportation. Verifiable experience / Background
check. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test. Bilingual skills highly
desirable.
Information Resource Specialist II -
Part-time position. Job duties: greeting clients, registering clients, data entry, prepare workshop materials, and clerical duties. Applicants must have knowledge of or willingness to learn federal, state, regular and special education laws and regulations. Applicant must have dependable personal transportation. Some evening, weekend work and overnight travel required. Verifiable experience / Background check. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test. Bilingual skills highly desirable.
